This handheld device appears to be a skeletal jaw attached to an extendable handle. When the trigger is pulled, the jaw clamps shut with a surprising amount of force.
Functionality: You can use an action to pull the trigger and extend the Ripper Gripper up to 15 feet. Make a melee attack against a target within range. On a hit, the target takes 1d8 force damage, and if it is a creature, it is grappled (escape DC 15). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and you can’t use the Ripper Gripper on another target. As an action, you can release the creature, causing the Ripper Gripper to retract.
